I came to the Web development world via the high tech route. I have a Master's degree in Computer Science (Kansas State University, College of Engineering), and I've worked doing software development and database design. Successfully earning a Web Site Design Certificate (University of Colorado) started me thinking that my professional life was ready for a change. As I've continued to study design theory --- in general and as applied specifically to web sites --- as well as programming for the Web, I've become hooked. Web development is a terrific field for combining technical and artistic skills to produce a quality, useful product.
